Are there other ways to feed baby than with a bottle? I'm talking about a breastfed baby whose mama goes out for the occasional evening and leaves pumped milk at home for sitter. What has been found helpful/easiest? ----annawilliams

Haberman (spelling?) bottle, eye dropper, little cup.  My last 2 children refused anything but the breast.  This was interesting as I have major milk supply issues.  I pumped and they nursed all the time.  On a few rare occasions (once when it was necessary that I take a small break to heal, my Dh FORCE fed one of my Dds to drink from the Haberman, it was very traumatic for me).  If you have a child that doesn't take a bottle, than I would suggest taking baby with you or going someplace nearby where you can come home and nurse. -- EKJourney

My son doesn't like bottles. The only thing I've found he semi-likes are the throw away/take along/ cheapo cups with a lid and cup with no valve. They are harder than the silicone nuby's and softer than the regular sippy cups. -  Mommy2Jacks&Wil

*other ways to feed a baby other than a bottle- If a breastfeeding mother doesn't want to use a bottle, there are several different options.  Syringes are often used in lieu of a bottle, especially for newborns. Even small babies can drink from a cup as long as it is done very slowly so the baby won't choke.  You can even use the clear measuring cups that come with various medications as a little drinking cup for tiny babies!  sapphire921

breastfeeding and leaving milk…My first didn’t take to a bottle, so I went straight to a sippy cup at about 4 months.  I even remember telling a sitter, if he will not take it, put it in a tiny cup and let him take sips.  It actually worked.  He only took 3-4 oz at a time since he fed every 2 hours. –Jen

*I like to use a child's cup (not sippy) and let the child sip/lick it out.
Holding baby upright, bring cup to lower lip, tip till liquid barely
touches lips, then hold steady, baby will slowly try to suck it in, keep
tipping it back when baby gets a little sip. (Or find a good, trusted
friend who is also a BFing mom and offer to wet nurse... highly unpopular)
