If you read the article about Encouraging Reluctant Writers, you heard mention of "foam writing".  If you read the article about Brain Boosting Knowledge, you read of the necessity our children have of experiencing new things, through touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing.

Well, this is just one such example. :) We have been using shaving cream occasionally for the last couple of years for various occasions. The day these pictures were taken (a couple years ago), math class was not going very well at our home school, so this is how we livened things up. It is also a wonderful way to keep a smaller child occupied while you do school with an older one. If the littles get carried away with it, they can spend the second half of school playing in the bathtub. ;) We have used it for practicing spelling words too, and just for fun -as is, or with some matchbox cars driving through the "snow"!

Your kitchen will smell amazingly manly by the time you are done, too!
