Are you someone who creates your own documents and would
love to share them with others online, but haven't found an easy way to
do so? I have had a situations where I want to upload to a message
board, but the file is too big. I have found a great way to share
documents with others in a safe and FREE way!
First of
all, if I create a document that I don't want others to "tweak" or
"copy", I transfer to a PDF document using a FREE service at PDF Online.
Just
upload your document via their site, give them your email address and
within 5 minutes(more like 2 minutes though) you will receive an email
with the PDF document.
For easier sharing online, I recently found a great site called Scribd.
It allows you to upload your documents and then provides a link to that
document to share with others. Scribd allows the following document
formats to be uploaded:
- Adobe PDF (.pdf)
- Adobe PostScript (.ps)
- Microsoft Word (.doc/ .docx)
- Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt/.pps/.pptx)
- Microsoft Excel (.xls/.xlsx)
- OpenOffice Text Document (.odt, .sxw)
- OpenOffice Presentation Document (.odp, .sxi)
- OpenOffice Spreadsheet (.ods, .sxc)
- All OpenDocument formats
- Plain text (.txt)
- Rich text format (.rtf)
Scribd
also allows you to view the millions of other documents that are
"public" on their site. I have found tons of ebooks and documents for
homeschooling on there. The one publisher that I found that has over
400 documents that are super useful is Donnette Davis.
So if you are looking for a safe, easy way to share documents online PDF Online and Scribd might be your answers. This also works as "storage" for your documents. No more having to buy USB Flash Drives or CD-R's or anything like that. You can upload to Scribd and store them there for FREE and not take up space on your hard drive.
