Wife to Scott, mother to Dillon-8, Cheyenne-6, Gabriel-4, Moriah-2, and Avianna born March 21st. I love being a stay at home mom, and finding ways to save money and make my job easier.
How to make garlic ear oil

You need:
Olive oil
Garlic cloves
Sterile glass bottle with dropper

I start with 2oz. oil and 3 garlic cloves chopped, put in a glass measuring cup, and place in a pan of water on the stove.
Heat the water until boiling.
If you need the oil right away, simmer for 10 min. If not, let the garlic "steep" (off the stove) for about 4-6 hours.
Then, strain and put into glass jar for storage.

TO USE OIL-
Heat jar of oil on the stove in a small amount of water in a sauce pan till just warm. It is important to test the oil on your inner wrist, then in your own ear before using on your child. ALWAYS TEST HEAT OF OIL BEFORE PUTTING IN CHILDS EAR.  Also, always use in both ears even if infection is only on one side. Put about 5 drops of oil into ear then a small piece of cotton. Keep child on side for a few minutes, then do the other ear. Do this about 3 times a day, until child is better.

If you catch it right away, it goes away very quickly. Watch for child grabbing ears and high pitched screaming in younger children; pulling on ears and  complaining of pain or discomfort in older children.

The beauty of this oil is that you can use it even if you are not sure of an infection, without negative side affects. The warmth of the oil soothes; the garlic kills infection. I have had great results with this oil!
