Supermom
I am a mom of three. My kids are my life,I wouldn't know what to do with out them. My son Lucian just recently got discharged from the hospital after along haul. He has a birth defect called Esophageal atresia. It is a congenital anomaly in which the esophagus ends in a blind upper pouch. The esophagus is commonly known as the gullet, food pipe, and in babies born with EA this means that the gullet is not connected all the way to the stomach, and as result food and saliva cannot pass into the stomach. So a few days after birth they placed a G-tube (gastronomy's) in his stomach so that he could eat. It has been along road and is far from over but all worth the while. My other son Jordan is seven and my daughter Alexia is four years old. I don't really have much time to get out,but when i do i like to have a good time. I'm a pretty mellow person for the most part as long as you don't mess with my family.I love the St. Louis cardinals they are the best. I love to dance, I love music and enjoy going to concerts. I also don't mind ugly people on the outside but the ones who are like awww on the inside should just never speak to me ever not at all! Cheaters, liars, and fakes and anyone who puts on a front should all just disappear...or never talk to me again because u all stink at life!

Hello my name is Kayla and I am a mom of three soon to be four. Our youngest son Lucian was born with a very rare birth defect esophageal atresia /tef tracheomalacia bronchomalacia and laryngomalacia as well as down syndrome and he developed atalectsis of the lung issues as well as some obstructive air way sleep apnea issues. My pregnancy with Lucian was a very scary one - I always felt something was not right, and the feeling continued to grow as I got further along. I couldn't eat, couldn't breathe, the protein in my urine was high, I vomited the whole nine months; I was just very sick. I currently mostly work full time and am a full time mom as well. My daughter Lexi has seizures and she is on medicines to control them and she has been doing very well. Lucian has to go in for esophageal dilations to keep his esophageal stricture open. He is g tube fed he has never had a bottle or a cup but will spoon feed some. He is doing very very well for all he has been through; he is God's little miracle. Our little miracle, my son Jordan, does very well but has some attention deficit disorders we are getting checked out. We have speech therapy as well as physical therapy; occupational therapy as well as a developmentalist and a nutritionist and speech therapy that are at our house weekly. I am currently trying to go back to school as well so my time is tied and I am a busy person. I also have my own web site that is dedicated to our son and any one who can use the information. I am looking for moms who have similar interests and who are going through similar experiences. |

Hello, Kayla! Welcome to MamaKnowsBest! It sounds like you have a lot on your plate - I hope you can find support here! I don't know a lot about the particular issues your children are struggling with, but someone here at MKB may. In the meantime, I will pray for you. I really mean that - no faking here! :) How did you find MKB?
