I am a homeschool mom with six children.
I have been really convicted over the past weeks to be careful of what I am speaking over my children. Anyone else with that conviction? I mean I try to be careful about what I say, but I feel like I need to go a step farther. I need to speak blessings over them.

I am not saying puff them up with an elitest attitude, making them feel superior to others by saying, "Wow, you are the best artist in the world." No, I don't mean that kind of puffing up that can make a kid's head big. I mean that I feel convicted to tell them that I know that they will choose the right path. Encouraging them after they deal with negative consequences to wrong behavior, telling them that I know they want to follow God. I know that they will do amazing things for the Lord. They are made by God, and He loves them so much that he will help them do it right if we pray and ask for his help and guidance. Telling my children that, "I know you will succeed because the Lord will help you". Speaking things like, "I ask you Lord, to bless their minds and hearts to always follow you and not give into their flesh or the world", as I lay hands over their heads. To constantly walk up to them and pray a blessing of God's anointing over them to help them to learn his ways, etc.

Anyone else feeling impressed with this? Anyone have any good scriptures the Lord has given them regarding this?

Thank you so much for this article! And yes, I have been feeling convicted in this area lately. I think that we can spend so much time correcting (which is good and necessary)but we forget that they need encouragement and positive reinforcement on occasion.
