I'm 26, the oldest of eight living and still present at home: any childrearing or household-management experience I have comes from that source!
This tea was prescribed for me around age 8 after I had a bout with a recurring stomach bug (it kept coming back every other day!)  It finally stopped the cycle and we've used it ever since as a great healing remedy after contracting a stomach flu or other virus that inflames the digestive system.

2 cups boiling water
1 peppermint teabag (actual peppermint leaves, not peppermint-flavored tea leaves)
1 chamomile teabag (again, 100% chamomile flowers, not a mix)
1 capsule of powdered American Slippery Elm bark or 1 teabag of Slippery Elm Bark, if available
Honey to taste

Steep the teabags in water for 5-10 minutes, or until quite dark.  Break the capsule and stir about half the powdered elm bark into the water.  Add honey.  For younger children, drink 1/3 of a cup 3 times daily for two or three days.  Older kids and adults, 1 cup three times daily.  Can be drunk either hot or cold, though lukewarm is usually easiest on the stomach.

This works best if begun after vomiting has stopped - it is not a good preventative like activated charcoal is used for, simply a good soothing or healing tea.  Simple peppermint tea is terrific for a variety of normal stomachaches, but we don't usually add the chamomile or Slippery Elm Bark.  It can be hard to find Slippery Elm, but it's usually found in the "digestive" area of vitamin or health-food stores.
