Heather
I have a love for learning and a passion for teaching. For the last ten years I have taught in public, private, and home schools in some way or another. I currently write educational grants and conduct developmental screenings for children who may be at risk for school failure.
Over a decade of teaching has taught me that not all paints are as washable as they claim.  A teacher I was aide to had this gem of an idea:

Add laundry detergent to the paint in the first place!

Its
not exactly rocket science but it has saved me from many times as I am a very messy artist
  • I use equal parts regular detergent , powdered paint  , and water.
  • If you have sensitive skin use Ivory Snow or similar baby detergent.
  • Even if your paint says it is washable you may want to add some for extra protection.
  • Add water if paint dries up or if you want a more water color like paint.
  • I save creamer bottles to mix paint in and just shake till mixed.

Now THIS is a fabulous idea! I have got to try this, because as you say, they are not all as washable as they say....

Got any ideas for making MARKERS more washable???
